Through 18 lessons and creative projects, children will explore the rich artistic traditions of Northern Europe while sharpening observation skills. Each art history lesson begins with an engaging interactive read-aloud that sparks curiosity and builds comprehension. Children then explore a Master Artwork through guided questions that encourage them to look closely and share their observations and ideas. They immediately put their learning into practice through a hands-on art project, using materials and techniques introduced in the video lessons. Working out of doors as well as at the table, children will practice representing everyday life, and creating art through observation of their natural environments. 

Video lessons demonstrate a variety of printmaking methods by rolling ink onto plates to create multiple prints. Lessons include resist painting and the expressive qualities of charcoal.
